Pepper Pavilion Wedding | Charleston, South Carolina

Lily + Joe’s Pepper Pavilion Wedding

Lily + Joe’s Pepper Pavilion wedding was such a beautiful celebration filled with family, friends, and all of the charm that makes this South Carolina wedding venue so special. With 140 guests gathered to celebrate their marriage, their day was full of joyful moments while still feeling relaxed and intentional.

As a Pepper Pavilion wedding photographer, one of my favorite things about this property is that so much of the wedding day can take place right on-site. From getting ready in the cottages to an outdoor ceremony overlooking the pond and a rustic barn-style reception, the property gives couples so many opportunities to create a wedding day that feels connected overall.

Getting Ready at the Pepper Pavilion Wedding Cottages

One of the things I love about Pepper Pavilion is the cottages available to rent on the property. Having a place to get ready right at the venue makes the morning of the wedding feel so much easier and more relaxed.

Rather than having everyone travel between multiple locations, the wedding party can spend the morning together, get ready, enjoy time with family and friends, and still have plenty of opportunities for those quiet getting-ready moments before the ceremony.

For couples planning a Pepper Pavilion wedding, the cottages are such a practical part of the overall experience and also provide a beautiful setting for getting-ready photos.

An Outdoor Ceremony Overlooking the Pond

Lily and Joe exchanged vows during an outdoor ceremony overlooking the pond, creating such a beautiful backdrop for the beginning of their marriage.

There is something especially meaningful about an outdoor ceremony surrounded by the natural landscape of the property. The pond, open space, and surrounding greenery give the ceremony a beautiful South Carolina setting without taking away from the couple themselves.

After the ceremony, Lily and Joe were able to spend time together taking portraits around the property while their guests enjoyed the transition into cocktail hour and the reception.

The Rustic Barn Reception

Following the ceremony, everyone gathered for the reception inside Pepper Pavilion’s rustic barn-style space. With 140 guests, there was plenty of energy throughout the evening as everyone celebrated Lily and Joe.

The rustic feel of the venue pairs so naturally with a wedding day that is centered around family, connection, and time spent together. From dinner and toasts to dancing and all of the little moments happening throughout the reception, the evening was a true celebration of Lily and Joe. One thing I loved about their reception, was the s’more bar by the firepit in the space that doubles as the ceremony space.

And Yes, There Are Horses!

Another detail that makes a Pepper Pavilion wedding so unique is the horses on the property.

They are such a fun part of the landscape and add an element you don’t find at every wedding venue. For couples who love a more natural, relaxed setting, these little details throughout the property are part of what gives Pepper Pavilion its personality.

Lily + Joe’s Pepper Pavilion Wedding

For couples looking for a Pepper Pavilion wedding venue with an on-site getting-ready experience, beautiful outdoor ceremony space, a rustic reception setting, and plenty of natural scenery, this property offers so much to work with.

And as a Pepper Pavilion wedding photographer, I loved getting to document all of it — not just the big moments, but the hugs, happy tears, laughter, and little in-between moments that made Lily and Joe’s day completely theirs.
